Stedman Clark was a resident of Mansfield on September 6, 1862 when he enlisted as a Quartermaster Sergeant in the 7th Regiment Rhode Island Volunteer Infantry; he was mustered out on June 6, 1865.

Stedman Clark was not living in Mansfield in the 1860 U.S. census; no further information is known.
